All frequently asked questions about Dexalot technology, trading and development.
1. What is Dexalot?
Dexalot is an omni-chain order book DEX with zero slippage, near-zero gas fees, and is on its own app-specific chain, allowing users to deposit from and withdraw to multiple chains. Dexalot is also fully on-chain and non-custodial.
2. What services does Dexalot offer, and what can I do with them?
Dexalot provides multiple services, with the most important ones being:
Central Limit Order Book: Trade assets with full control over your order price, just like on a traditional exchange. Our CLOB platform is operating on our Avalanche L1 so it’s fast, secure and cost-effective.
SimpleSwap: Easily swap assets with one-click, including cross-chain swaps with zero slippage.
These services allow you to trade, swap, and manage your assets efficiently while benefiting from Dexalot’s decentralized infrastructure.
3. What networks does Dexalot support at the moment?
Dexalot's CLOB operates on an omnichain structure, allowing you to deposit and bridge assets from any supported networks. It currently support Avalanche, Base and Arbitrum networks but we’ll be adding many more soon, including Monad, Solana, and others. If you prefer not to deal with the bridging process, you can also use SimpleSwap to cross-swap your assets with a single click.
4. How do I start trading?
Go to one of the following links:
- For general CLOB trading: https://app.dexalot.com/trade
- For one-click swaps (SimpleSwap): https://app.dexalot.com/swap
**For “amm-style” one-click swap, you can use the latter link.
Once on the page, connect your wallet by clicking the “Connect Wallet” button at the top right corner of the dapp.
Now you’re connected to the Dexalot exchange. To start trading, you’ll need to deposit assets from your preferred mainnet.
To do this, go to the Dashboard at https://app.dexalot.com/dashboard.
Click the “Deposit” button.
Choose the token you’d like to deposit and enter the amount.
Once completed, you’ll be ready to use the CLOB DEX.
After depositing, you can go to the trading section and start entering orders, to trade as you wish.
5. Is there any demo trade page ?
Our testnet page is active for demo trade. The testnet and mainnet are working side by side to let new users get used to Dexalot and provide users who want to practice that opportunity more. Click https://app.dexalot-test.com/trade to access the testnet.
6. How do I cancel an order?
1. Click on "Order History" in the bottom middle tab of the trade screen.
2. Then, click on "Open" to view your active orders.
3. Next, click the three dots on the right-hand side of the order you want to cancel.
7. Was Dexalot Audited?
We fully agree that security is of paramount importance. To this end we tried our best to use well-audited libraries of OpenZeppelin to build on at the smart contracts level. We also did two private security audits and three public security audits by Hacken. We plan to trigger a security audit whenever an update is done for smart contracts. Additionally, we did extensive hardening at the infrastructure level to increase the resilience of Dexalot in this age of distributed attacks and scanners, etc. We will soon announce a bounty program as well to encourage community members skilled in security to contribute to the project. In addition, since a multisig decides which new pairs to be listed on Dexalot, the probability of interacting with a malicious contract is very limited.
8. Who gets filled first in the order book?
Orders are filled first based on price, then on time entered (orders entered earlier will be executed earlier).
9. Is there a Dexalot token?
Yes, Dexalot has its own native token called $ALOT. It functions as both a utility and governance token within the Dexalot ecosystem. Currently, the $ALOT token is used for paying gas fees and participating in incentive programs. In the near future, it will also be used for staking and voting in governance decisions.
10. Are there any incentives for using Dexalot?
Yes, we currently have separate incentive programs. Users are rewarded based on their activity on our platform. You can find more details about our incentives on Dexalot Knowledge Hub at https://docs.dexalot.com/en/DIP.html.
11. Where can I find the details of one of my transactions ?
In the middle of the page, click on "Order History", then select "Closed Orders" from the dropdown. To view details of a specific order, click on the three dots on the right side of the order.
12. What does listing an asset on Dexalot look like today and in the future? How will the listing process eventually differ from the traditional CEX exchange listing?
The first pair of Dexalot (AVAX/USDT.e) was listed as part of the deployment process. The deployment script was designed to deploy the smart contracts, add the first pair and transfer the ownership of the exchange to a 3-of-4 multisig wallet. With that said, any new trading pair needs to be listed through an approval process by this multisig wallet. Dexalot project members collectively hold only one out of 4 keys required to execute any operational decision for the exchange. Dexalot values community participation and there will subsequently be a transition to governance that will guide the decision making of the multisig.
13. How does Dexalot change now that it operates on an Avalanche L1(subnet)?
With Dexalot now running on its own Avalanche L1, users can expect and experience faster transaction speeds, lower fees, and improved scalability. The Avalanche L1 allows for better performance and customization, ensuring a smoother trading experience while maintaining security and decentralization. Additionally, the flexibility in coding will allow the team to also add features with new order types or other related products and services.
14. How can I disconnect my wallet from the app?
To disconnect your wallet account from the dApp, click on your address in the top right corner of the screen, then select "Disconnect" from the dropdown menu.
15. Why are the prices of a specified coin different from other exchanges?
Price differences occur across exchanges due to varying market conditions at any given time. In fact, our SimpleSwap system often provides some of the best prices in the market and locks in those prices as the execution rate for a limited time during the swap. On Dexalot, you have full control to set your own price, ensuring you never receive a worse rate than your preferred one.
16. Is there a chance you have plans to mitigate DeFi composability?
DeFi composability on Avalanche is indeed excitingly going to increase with the introduction of customizable EVM-compatible blockchains. Dexalot has security at the core of all development. We encourage traders and smart contract developers to help scrutinize our on-chain code and become part of this development.
17. How are you going to establish a governance model?
Governance will be based in part on an OpenZeppelin framework. In general, it will be similar but the thresholds for various actions will differ. More details and documentation will be provided as we approach implementation.
18. What are the real benefits of a CLOB DEX except no permanent loss and hopefully less slippage?
It is a non-custodial, permissionless decentralized exchange. Therefore, for average users the key advantage is that the control of their assets will be always in their hands. There are no frequent, unexpected maintenance periods that block deposits, withdrawals, or trading in general. Also, you have the ability to name your price through limit orders and that should give you the peace of mind that your orders never get executed worse than your price. There are minimized slippage risks
19. What is the fee structure?
When you place a limit order, it can either be a maker or a taker. The fees for maker and taker orders may vary depending on the trading pair. To see the specific fees for each pair, please check our Trade Pairs section on the Contract Details page from https://app.dexalot.com/contract_details.
20. Why do I need to pay fees?
Since all orders are processed on-chain, a network fee is required for every transaction. However, our Avalanche L1 network has extremely low gas fees—usually just a fraction of a dollar. In fact, with just 1 ALOT in your gas tank, you can typically cover around 100 transactions. Fees may fluctuate based on network usage, but Avalanche L1s remain one of the most cost-effective blockchain networks available.
21. Can these fee amounts be reduced?
All orders on Dexalot are fully on-chain, so you'll incur a network fee for each transaction. However, Dexalot’s network has dynamic fees that are near zero, often just a fraction of a dollar. In the future, gas fees may be adjusted if necessary.
22. Is there any minimum trade limit?
Yes, there is a minimum trade limit for each pair on Dexalot. You can check the minimum and maximum order limits for each pair by visiting Dexalot Contract Details from https://app.dexalot.com/contract_details and navigating to the "Trade Pairs" section.
23. Why is there minimum trade limit?
The minimum trade limit exists to prevent excessive small transactions that could overload the system. Even though Avalanche L1s allow high TPS , having no limit would still lead to an extremely high volume of tiny transactions. This could increase risk of network congestion, impact node performance, and raise operational costs. By enforcing a minimum trade amount, the system ensures efficiency, prevents unnecessary strain on validators, and maintains smooth transaction processing for all users.
24. When will market orders be active?
Some pairs already have market orders activated. You can place a market order on any pair by selecting a price that already exists in the order book.
25. Are you going to add more pairs in the future?
Dexalot started with a single trading pair and has now expanded to 19 active pairs on CLOB, with even more available on SimpleSwap - including cross-chain swaps across 3 networks(avalanche, arbitrum base for now) and with zero slippage. With our upcoming Vault system, we’ll have even greater flexibility to add new pairs quickly, allowing for rapid expansion in adding more networks and pairs.
26. I cannot connect to the Dexalot App website
Sometimes, the cache in your browser and our app’s website can get out of sync, which may cause issues when connecting to the dapp. To fix this, try the following steps:
-Press Shift+F5 (hold the Shift key and press F5) to refresh the page.
-If that doesn’t work, clear your browser’s cache through the settings page. Be aware that doing this may log you out of sessions, remove saved passwords, or delete browsing history, depending on the options you choose.
Additionally, if you have other browser extensions installed (such as wallet apps), they might be interfering with your connection. Try disabling these extensions and then attempt to connect to the dapp again.
If you're using a VPN, try turning it off, as it could be causing connection issues as well.
27. I deposited some assets, but they are not showing up in my portfolio.
Your assets should be reflected in your portfolio in about 10 seconds, depending on the bridge provider's traffic. Here are a few steps you can try:
- Refresh the page by pressing Shift + F5 and review your balance.
- Check the Transfer tab to see if your transfer has landed on Dexalot. This may take 10-20 seconds, so giving it some time and checking back could resolve the issue.
If the issue persists, feel free to contact us on our socials or email us directly at [email protected].
28. Metamask transactions are taking too long
Since Dexalot operates on its own dapp-specific network, this issue should not typically occur. However, it can happen when the network is very busy, such as when you’re depositing from other mainnets like Arbitrum. During these times, the average gas price increases, which can cause transactions made through MetaMask to take longer. You can avoid this delay by manually adjusting the gas price in MetaMask to a higher value. Once the network is less congested, this issue should no longer be a problem.
29. I put in an order, but nothing happened.
If your order is still under "open order", that means it is not filled yet. Your assets will be reflected after your order gets executed. So you should wait till your order is executed or cancel the order and change the price if you want it to be executed immediately.
30. I put my AVAX for sale and then placed a buy order while my sell order was still open. It ended up selling my AVAX back to me. Is this normal?
What you performed is called “wash trade.” Wash trades are allowed because under normal circumstances it would be uneconomical to do so because if you do a wash trade you not only pay gas fees but also commissions for both of your buy and sell orders.
31. Traded some assets but received less of the counter asset than expected. Why?
On Dexalot, you set your own price, meaning your orders will never be executed at a worse price than what you specified. However, your order may have been “partially filled”. Please check your order history and review both open and closed orders to confirm whether the full amount was filled.
32. My assets are showing in my Portfolio Total, but I can’t use or withdraw them. What should I do?
The "Available Portfolio" is calculated as:
“Portfolio Total - Funds tied up in open trades.”
If you can't use or withdraw your assets, it's possible your trade is still in progress. Please check your open orders to see if that's the case.
